Upon completing his Judicial Clerkship, Mr. Lelii founded the Paul Lelii Law Office in 2004, focusing on labor and employment cases, including extensive practice before state and federal equal employment opportunity agencies.

From 2005 through 2012, Mr. Lelii served as a volunteer mediator for the Minnesota Department of Human Rights; he assisted the parties in solving the discrimination charges using his invaluable knowledge and experience. Mr. Lelii has also worked in business and family immigration, immigration court, criminal defense (adult and juvenile), and other general civil litigation matters since 2004. For a significant portion of his career, Mr. Lelii practiced before Minnesota state criminal court representing defendants in seeking their freedom.

Mr. Lelii has also provided pro bono services for the Cambodian Community nationwide regarding certain green card holders that must repatriate back to Cambodia (deportation issues). Further, as a part of his pro bono endeavors for Cambodians, Mr. Lelii frequently provides the Cambodian Museum (IKARE) of Saint Paul legal advice pro bono.
